One thesis runs through every brief since mid-September: at a ~5% risk-free rate and $365tn of global debt, the marginal dollar of capital stops buying narrative duration and starts buying physical chokepoints — electrons, molecules, memory bits, optics, copper, fissile fuel, refining capacity, and…

Recalibration memo
This is a 30% net-equity book — less than half the 62% equities the risk posture would allow — expressing a single, fairly coherent idea six ways: buy Technology and Health Care names where the system's 'reality' score sits above its 'pricing' score, and let a 41% cash/13% Treasury/6% gold ballast carry the rest. Every position is a fresh 5% buy with no legacy P&L, average stop 8.8% away, so the entire book is at risk-entry, not risk-held. The macro read is middling by design: Goldilocks 27.7 vs Contraction 27.6, adverse-regime probability 49.9 and rising (Contraction +6.0, Reflation -6.2 over 60 days), which is why the system is taking equity risk in the sector with the strongest flow (Technology rotation +68) while keeping over half the book in cash and duration. The honest characterisation: this is a flow-confirmed, trend-template-clean, value-gap portfolio, carried at low gross exposure because the regime does not deserve more. The weakest link is that four of six valuation models (SMCI, HPQ, CRM, BAX) came back LOW CONFIDENCE — fair value more than 60% above price — which is the model telling us the market is pricing a de-rating the multiples do not capture. We are being paid for an expectations gap that may partly be an information gap.
- SMCILargest reality-vs-pricing gap in the book (71 vs 45) with +77.8% TTM revenue growth and 139bps of margin expansion, riding Technology flows at +68. But it is also the lowest-quality name (quality 43), carries a -17.8% FCF margin, -$6.8B OCF and 11% YoY dilution, sits 30% below its 52-week high and is in the 88.6th vol percentile. The system is paying for growth and flow and explicitly accepting cash-conversion risk; the 11.4% stop distance is the widest in the book for a reason.
- HPQThe cleanest technical in the portfolio — trend template 100, all five core momentum checks pass, 12m +16.3%, only 11.8% off highs — paired with accelerating revenue (+8.1%) and +36.5% FCF growth at the 43rd percentile of its own EV/Sales range. This is a re-rating and flow trade, not a franchise-quality trade; negative equity and flat-to-declining operating margin are the offsets.
- CRMOur only AI Software & Agents exposure (theme trend 64, long-term conviction 0.76) and the only name with an observed rather than inferred catalyst — a notable insider purchase, 60% probability inside 45 days. P/E at the 0th percentile of its 5-year range, 34.5% FCF margin, ~19% shareholder yield. The re-rating has not started: -10.9% over one month, 6m relative to sector -24.3%, RSI 47.6.
- ZBRAA deliberate momentum-continuation hold rather than a mispricing: expectations gap is only 4 points, price is 2.5% from its 52-week high, trend template 100, +78.5% over six months. Expected return of +19.1% against a -41.5% bear case is the worst payoff asymmetry in the book, so it earned the lowest Technology conviction (13.7).
- DXCMThe quality anchor — ROIC 60.7%, 28.3% FCF margin, +694bps operating margin YoY, quality score 82 — bought at the 92nd percentile of its own historical cheapness. The catch is flows: Health Care rotation is -8 and DXCM's flow component scores just 36, the weakest in the portfolio. Conviction 8.3 reflects that it needs a catalyst, not just time.
- BAXPure show-me value: revenue swung from -4.8% to +5.4%, FCF +72.4%, 10.8% FCF yield, EV/Sales at the 10th percentile, protected by a net cash balance sheet. But operating margin is -2.4%, ROIC -4.5%, quality 27, and it has zero identified catalysts (catalyst score 40). Lowest conviction in the book at 5.0 and it is sized the same as everything else, which is the sizing system's main shortcoming this week.
- ·Technology is 20% of total assets and 67% of equity exposure across four names (SMCI, HPQ, CRM, ZBRA) — all four share the identical 'Technology rotation < -30 for 2 consecutive weeks' exit rule, so a single sector-flow reversal would trip two-thirds of the book at once.
- ·Cash and near-cash is 41% of assets; combined with 13% Treasuries, 6% gold, 5% credit and 5% commodities, 70% of the portfolio is non-equity. Return dispersion will be driven more by the cash drag decision than by stock selection.
- ·Equal-weight 5% sizing across convictions ranging from 27.2 (SMCI) to 5.0 (BAX) means position size carries no information. We own as much of our weakest-conviction, lowest-quality name as our strongest.
- ·Factor-wise this is a value/expectations-gap book (weighted pricing 52 vs weighted reality 64) bought into a tape where flows show Growth leading Value by 89 points — the stock selection and the flow regime are pointed in opposite directions.
- ·Mid-cap and large-cap only; small-cap flows are negative and the book has no small-cap exposure, which is consistent.
- ·Themes are thin: AI Software & Agents, Longevity & Healthspan and Medical Device Innovation are 2.5% each. The single starred theme — Advertising & Attention Platforms (trend 56, pricing 40) — is not owned at all.
- ·Duration: 13% in IEF+TLT at the same time the flow summary reports long-duration Treasury flows decreasing.
- ·Valuation model unreliability on the majority of the book. SMCI, HPQ, CRM and BAX all carry LOW CONFIDENCE expected-return flags with fair value >60% above price and scores capped at 75. The headline 94-101% expected returns on those three tech names should be treated as model artefacts, not forecasts. If the market is right about the de-rating, the entire 'reality ahead of pricing' thesis is a value trap.
- ·Single-factor sector risk. Four positions were entered on the same 'capital rotating toward Technology' rationale. Technology rotation at +68 is a crowded, late-stage reading; the exit rule only fires at -30 for two consecutive weeks, meaning the system will sit through roughly 98 points of flow deterioration before acting.
- ·Regime drift is running against the equity sleeve. Contraction probability rose 6.0 points in 60 days to 27.6 while Reflation fell 6.2; growth, inflation and liquidity dimensions are all negative (-1.1, -3.8, -3.9). Adverse-regime probability is 49.9 against a 55 exit threshold — one more bad print away from a portfolio-wide rule trip.
- ·SMCI balance-sheet risk is asymmetric and not reflected in sizing. Negative operating cash flow of -$6.8B and 11% annual dilution means a funding event, not a growth miss, is the likely source of a drawdown, and it would gap through the 36.41 stop.
- ·Thin catalyst cover. Five of six positions have only inferred catalysts (scores 40-55) and BAX has none. The book is relying on continued sector rotation to do the work; there is almost no stock-specific event risk to force a re-rating within the holding horizon.
- ·Correlated stop-out. Every position is at entry price with an average 8.8% stop. A single 8-10% broad tech drawdown takes out most of the book simultaneously and converts a 30% equity allocation into a realised loss of roughly 2.5-3% of total assets with no offsetting winners.
- ·Health Care sleeve is fighting its own flows. DXCM and BAX sit in a sector with -8 rotation; DXCM's flow score of 36 and BAX's 46 are the two weakest in the book.
- ·Technology rotation score rolling from +68 toward neutral or negative for two consecutive weeks — that is the written exit rule on four positions and we should pre-commit to trimming before it formally fires, not after.
- ·Adverse regime probability (Stagflation + Contraction) crossing 55 from the current 49.9, which trips the regime exit rule on all six holdings simultaneously.
- ·SMCI reporting another quarter of negative free cash flow or announcing an equity raise — that confirms the market's de-rating is about cash conversion, not sentiment, and invalidates the low-confidence fair value entirely.
- ·Any of the four LOW CONFIDENCE names re-rating toward the model's fair value would validate the expectations-gap framework; continued drift lower on improving fundamentals would tell us the framework is systematically mispricing quality discounts.
- ·The Growth-over-Value spread (currently +89) narrowing sharply would be a tailwind for this book's value tilt; a further widening says our selection factor is out of phase with flows and we should weight momentum higher at recalibration.
- ·HPQ or ZBRA losing trend-template status (currently both at 100) — these are the two cleanest technicals and their breakdown would signal the Technology flow impulse has turned before the rotation score registers it.
- ·CRM's insider-purchase catalyst passing its 45-day window with no follow-through, which would leave the position with nothing but a 120-day inferred theme catalyst.
- ·Health Care rotation turning positive would materially improve the DXCM thesis, which is explicitly flow-starved at a score of 36.
The hedge here is the balance sheet, not a derivative. With only 30% in equities against a 62% recommended posture, 41% in cash and 13% in Treasuries, the portfolio is already running roughly half the equity risk the stable risk score (54) permits — the implied beta to total assets is near 0.31 even with a 1.04 beta target on the equity sleeve. Gold at 6% and commodities at 5% provide the sticky-inflation offset, which is appropriate given inflation remains a live dimension even as it eased 3.8 points. What we do not have is a hedge against the thing that would actually hurt us: a Technology flow reversal hitting four positions at once. Stops are the only defence and they are correlated. If we want to stay at this gross exposure through a +68 rotation reading, the honest cheap option is to accept that the cash is the hedge and resist the temptation to deploy it into more Technology on strength. The TLT/IEF sleeve is worth questioning at recalibration given long-duration flows are reported as decreasing — that is 13% of assets working against a documented flow signal.
- ·Cybersecurity names — flows rank Cybersecurity > Semiconductors > Cloud Computing, yet the book owns none. Trigger: any cybersecurity name clearing the trend template with a pricing score below 55.
- ·Advertising & Attention Platforms — the only starred theme (trend 56, pricing 40, i.e. a favourable trend-versus-pricing spread) and we have zero exposure. Trigger: a constituent with reality > pricing by 15+ points and positive 3m relative strength vs SPY.
- ·Semiconductors — second-ranked flow destination; would give cleaner exposure to the Technology rotation than SMCI does without the negative-FCF and dilution profile. Trigger: a semi name scoring quality above 60 that we could swap against SMCI.
- ·BAX as a swap candidate — conviction 5.0, quality 27, zero catalysts, 5% weight. Trigger: any Health Care name with quality above 60 and a positive catalyst should displace it at next recalibration.
- ·Small-cap exposure (IWM) — currently correctly avoided on negative flows. Trigger: small-cap flows turning positive would signal broadening risk appetite and argue for raising equity weight toward the 62% posture.
- ·TLT — long-duration flows decreasing against our 5.2% holding. Trigger: rates dimension continuing to rise (currently +2.1) would argue for shifting duration into IEF or cash.
- ·Additional AI Software & Agents names — theme trend at 64 is well above the 45 exit threshold but we only have 2.5% exposure via CRM. Trigger: theme trend holding above 60 with a second name passing the entry screen.
